- Collect recent reports, scans and pathology documents.
- Confirm which specialty should review the case.
- Obtain a written proposed treatment plan and estimated costs from the hospital.
- Clarify how long you may need to remain in India.
- Check visa and attendant requirements applicable to your nationality.
While in India
Initial consultations sometimes change the treatment plan after physical examination or new tests. Build enough flexibility into travel plans to allow for this.
After returning home
Major treatment is not complete at discharge. Patients should leave with a written summary, medication plan, pathology/results where available, and a follow-up schedule with the treating team.
