How the treatment process works

A clear process reduces uncertainty. The exact sequence varies by diagnosis, but most international patient journeys follow the same broad stages.

1. Share your medical information

Send your recent reports, imaging summaries, pathology reports and a short account of your current diagnosis and treatment history.

2. Identify appropriate specialists

Based on the condition, IndiaMedHealth can coordinate opinions from suitable specialists and hospitals. Where appropriate, comparing more than one opinion can help clarify available options.

3. Understand the proposed plan

The treating doctor or hospital should explain the diagnosis, proposed treatment, expected stay, potential risks, recovery and likely costs. IndiaMedHealth can help organise these communications but does not make the clinical decision.

4. Plan the visit

Once a treatment path is selected, the practical work begins: invitation/visa documents where applicable, appointments, accommodation, local transportation and admission planning.

5. Treatment in India

IndiaMedHealth remains available to coordinate appointments and hospital communication while the clinical team provides medical care.

6. Return and follow-up

Before travel home, clarify medications, wound care, follow-up tests and the timing of virtual consultations. Continued communication with the treating team can be particularly important after major surgery or cancer treatment.

Send your reports. Understand your options.

We can help coordinate specialist opinions, hospital options and the practical steps of travelling to India for treatment.
