Robotic surgery in India

Robot-assisted surgery can offer technical advantages in selected procedures, but the presence of a robot does not by itself make a hospital or surgeon the right choice.

What matters more than the machine

Ask who will perform the operation, how frequently that surgeon performs the specific procedure, whether the team handles complex cases and what the expected recovery pathway is.

Planning international travel

Patients need realistic guidance about hospital stay, catheter/drain needs where relevant, wound review, fitness to fly, pathology review and the timing of follow-up after returning home.

Example: robotic prostatectomy

The existing IndiaMedHealth site describes a 60-year-old patient from Nairobi who travelled to Gurugram and underwent robotic radical prostatectomy at Medanta with treatment and stay coordination.
